December 2011 Newsletter

Loved Ones,

It is so good to have this moment to sit down and get you caught up on the progress of the ministry. If you have been checking the website you know we are continuing to do our ministry to feed the homeless. It is going very well and Big Al says he now has a team that functions like a well oiled machine. We are still working on some of the particulars of getting the “Catching Hope Fishing Ministry” launched. We’re looking for a bigger boat to take people fishing, but in the mean time Big Al has managed to take some ministers out for a day of refreshing in his smaller boat. Brother Eric Moore (who has been a major blessing to us and is teaching our Tuesday and Thursday evening services) had a great day out on the water with Big Al and caught enough fish between them to feed all of the people at his outreach ministry.

Sister Debbie and I are preparing to have another event for “In The Nick of Time”. Our last conference at Pathways Community Church on November 2nd went very well. We had some great testimonies dealing with the subject of abuse and we were able to pray for and minister to several teens and their families. Out next Event we will be partnering with Pastor Benny Reyes at his church Nueva. This event will center on the cause and effect of depression and how to overcome it. This will take place at the end of January so be sure to check our site for the date and time.

We are continuing to support Sister Lynny McKeown and her husband Scott as they shelter and protect children who have been abused by their parents. Lynny and Scott are foster parents and the money they receive from the State is not enough to cover all the needs of their children. They are strong faith filled Christians and it is a privilege for our church to step up to meet those extra needs. We are honored to be a part of helping the most vulnerable in our society, children. This month we are helping Lynny and Scott to buy Christmas presents for their children.

Lewis and Donna Ayers have been a wonderful help to the ministry from Lew’s preaching, singing and handy man services to Donna’s help with sound and technical problems.

We joined the St. Pete Lions Club in their Santa Parade this past Saturday and we all had a good time. We ran out of candy again even though we doubled the candy from last year. Donna was driving one of the vehicles in the parade and received a call from their son Jed in Indiana;

“Hey mom what are you doing?” Jed asked.

“I’m in a parade son.” Donna replied.

“Seriously? Jed asked.

“Seriously son. I’m driving in the parade right now.”

“Wow, you guys are always doing something down there.” Jed remarked in wonder.

I thought when she relayed this to me of a song my Aunt Eleanor often sang, “I’ll be somewhere working for my Lord.” It is wonderful to be in the work of the Lord. To begin each day looking for another way to get the good news of the gospel out; Jesus is alive and well. He loves you more than you can know. He can and will help you no matter how big or small your problem is.

The Lord seems to whisper to my spirit to keep my heart and mind focused upon him. I am to weigh everything in the balance of His word. Not leaning to my own intellect but leaning upon his wisdom and truth. Time and again over the past six months people, situations and circumstances seemed to come against me or the ministry and loom large over us. Every time the Lord found a way to bring us out on top. I must remember that people, situations and circumstances should never move me, I am moved by God’s word and my belief in him only.

Always remember that God wants you healthy, wealthy and wise. Sickness and poverty did not come from God and he does not need them to “teach his children anything”. One word from God can change the course of your life and set you on a path of goodness and mercy. Don’t quit until you find that path.

John 10:10, Matthew 11:30, Luke 12:32, Matthew 7:11, II Corinthians 5:7, Psalm 81:11

Christmas is falling on a Sunday this year and we at “Shiloh’s Place” will be there to honor and sing praised to our God for the greatest gift of all time, “Jesus!” If you can’t join us in person, be sure to join us on our Ustream broadcast. (See the link at the bottom of this letter)

Be sure to check our product page Sister Lisa Davis has a Christmas CD along with my book and other CD’s by her father Pastor Pat Davis and our daughter Maggie Strong. We have “In The Nick of Time” bumper stickers and wristbands. Be sure to specify in on the donation page if you are requesting any of these items.

As you sow your offering this month sow it in faith that the God who gave us his son as a ransom for many will freely give us all things that pertain to life and Godliness. (Romans 8:32) Give in faith nothing wavering that your greatest need will be met with more left over to share with others.

May you and all those you treasure have The Most Blessed and The Merriest Christmas ever!

Hugs & Prayers,

Pastor Anita Ayers
